Mainly I would say the fishy smell is so unbearable, that's what ruins it. I mention that because I think the taste is not as fishy and perhaps that's what differentiates the commenters above. It was literally inedible it smelled so bad and I've had a lot of pleasantly pre-prepared fish things from Trader Joe's (I really liked the mojito salmon you were meh on, and I dig their crabcakes for e.g.) But this one was so bad, the fan in my kitchen has been on and I am afraid to take out the garbage because I'm convinced the neighbourhood cats and racooons will go crazy. Jessie, you got lucky! I promise!arabbitortwohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03763595726943576661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233184155385734517.post-79729890997070793572012-05-27T12:02:06.036-04:002012-05-27T12:02:06.036-04:00Oh my! I should have gone with my instinct to not buy this--mind you, I have had some quite delightful frozen fish meals from TJ's before (I like the filet of sole as well as the wild salmon meals), but this was very fishy. So fishy that I became concerned two days later when I woke up with all the symptoms of food poisoning. I was in the hospital for 3 days. Now, I don't want to be an alarmist because I never received an official diagnosis. I was pumped full of IV antibiotics and recovered, thankfully. That said, I have a sneaking suspicion the sockeye salmon/pasta meal may have been the culprit.shanaelysehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15828841389960183094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233184155385734517.post-65560985101540738802012-05-18T15:13:01.199-04:002012-05-18T15:13:01.199-04:00I made this for dinner last night on the stove top...I made this for dinner last night on the stove top and it was significantly "meh". Not overly fishy, just overly bland. Had the leftovers just now for lunch at work (cold, no less) and while the flavors were better, it was definitely pretty fishy. I like fishy, but won't be buying this again.Schreibshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01020559768128603106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233184155385734517.post-5881392629800421162012-02-12T11:07:31.631-05:002012-02-12T11:07:31.631-05:00Glad we could help, Sharon! I've picked it up a couple of times here in the Chicago 'burbs, but always put it back. Something about microwaving the fish was off-putting to me, and I'm a big salmon fan. Now that I know it doesn't taste good, I won't have to try it out for myself! And if that's the case, it looks like you're in Seattle. And if I'm right about that, there's a good chance you did have a very different experience with your Sockeye Salmon. I'm guessing they have some decent Sockeye in the Pacific Northwest...and TJ's products do differ from region to region. So, why not post a dissenting opinion?

I wish you and Steve well with "Club Trader Joe's." That is, if I'm right that you're affiliated with good ol' Stevie-boy. My comment stands either way -- the salmon in my bag was decent. I'm wondering if there are multiple suppliers or if the supplier was changed at some point (which would have had to be pretty quickly after this was introduced).Jessiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12158930054481107532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233184155385734517.post-13834494089309010732012-02-07T06:20:59.033-05:002012-02-07T06:20:59.033-05:00No, sorry, I'm not.
